At this point in my journey, I am developing new ways for people to work with me. Right now, there are 6 possible ways to work with me.
Throughout my life, I have changed jobs/careers a few times. My first college degree is a BS in Deaf Education, and I was a Sign Language interpreter for 5 years. I left that path and became a substitute teacher for a few years until my daughter started Kindergarten.
The day she started Kindergarten, I started the MAT for Secondary English program. I completed that and worked as a teacher for 5 years. Four of those were consecutive, then I had a 3-year break. I worked one more year as a teacher, and now I am no longer in a classroom. If you want to know why I left teaching, you can read that post.
In 2019, when I left the classroom, I began the MFA in Creative Writing program. I have always wanted to write a book, and now I have the degree (that I know I did not need) to show I can write it.
Now, I am developing my own path. I have come up with ways to work with me for the people who need my skills. Just know that all of these can be done by us meeting in person or virtually.
Ways to Work with Me
Tutoring
One of the ways to work with me is tutoring. I am a licensed high school English teacher. I have taught freshman English for 5 years. Since 2019, I have not been in the classroom, but I still have the skills to help students.
If you have a student in middle or high school who needs help with English, contact me. Also, if you are a college student, I can tutor college-level classes.
I can help improve your reading, writing, and comprehension. I can also help with daily assignments from classes.

Editing and Proofreading
I am a writer. As a writer, I know that I have to find the mistakes to fix in my writing.
If you are writing papers or essays for class, I can help you edit them.
As a structural editor, I will help you to figure out the direction of your paper. I can also help you with finding sources and using them in the paper.
If you need a line editor, I can read each line and make sure that everything is correct at the word level. I will also help to ensure that the paper as a whole makes sense and answers the required prompt/question for the assignment.
Ghostwriting
One of the worst feelings in the world is having something to say and not being able to say it or not knowing what words to use.
That is where I come in. I can ghostwrite for you.
It would be your idea and information, and I would put the words on the page. You would be the named author on anything written in this manner.
Resume’ and Cover Letter Writing
Are you looking to change jobs or update your resume’? I can help with that.
Together we will decide on the template to best fit your occupation. You will supply the information, and I will format it and write it appropriately for you.
After I complete your resume’, I will take the information you give me and write a cover letter for you as well.
You will be able to use it on LinkedIn or on any applications for new jobs.
Virtual Assistant
Are you running a business? Do you need help setting appointments or responding to emails? Do you have one too many phone calls to make every day that you want to pass off to someone else?
I can help. Being a virtual assistant is another one of the ways to work with me.
As your virtual assistant, I can handle your emails, phone calls, and calendar. It will allow you to work on the things that are most important for your business (and family and life).
Social Media Manager
Do you want a presence on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms? Do you feel like you do not have time for all of these things? Or trying to do it all and keep your business running is too much for you?
That’s where I come in!
As with anything, social media has a learning curve. I’m still working on my skills on the platforms, but getting started is the best part.
